Parish Nursing

Parish Nursing Ministry emphasizes the wholeness of body, mind and spirit. Rooted in the vision of Christ as healer, this ministry grows out of the belief that all faith communities are places of health and healing and have a role in promoting wholeness through the integration of faith and health. The Parish Nursing Ministry at St. Aidan’s is carried out by Parish Nurse (Candidate) Pat Ferguson, RN, the Health Cabinet, clergy and all members of the community.

The Parish Nurse is a Registered Nurse who blends professional nursing with spiritual caregiving. The Parish Nursing Ministry is focused on helping the congregation care for one another by attaining, maintaining and/or regaining the best possible whole person health—wellness of body, mind and spirit—that can be experienced.

Specifically the Parish Nurse will be a(n):

H – Health Provider
E – Educator on Health Issues
– Advocate/Resource Person 
L – Liaison to Faith and Community Resources
T – Teacher of Volunteers and Developer of Support Groups
H – Healer of Body, Mind, Spirit and Community
